Maybe, I'm stupid but can anyone actually tell me what it said? I mean beyond a handful of figures for bonuses and pay increase, it seemed like just a load of deliberately vague waffle about commitment to change, consultation at a local level blah blah blah. It's like in Orwell's 1984 where (if I remember) there are no actual laws - so in other words everybody is terrified because anything can constitute a crime. The only positive thing I can see is the line about changes will not affect the total number of hours worked in a week (okay - maybe not positive, but better than finding myself paid for 25 hours work in the middle of summer) other than that it doesn't say anything beyond being as vague as possible a version of what we've already heard. I don't want to sound like a pompous git but I understand f***ing quantum physics and I know when I'm being bullshitted. You'd think with all that money flying around they could at least afford a decent writer who could pull off some statement that would maybe at least fool a five year old.

In the absence of any evidence of anything new whatsoever, it has to be no, nyet, nein danke, non...

How much f***ing longer eh?

No to the deal - not enough compromise - But yes to your question if the ballot result is to accept it - then accept it with a heavy heart I will.

No in principle BUT the 64k question is what is an acceptable deal ? The status quo isn't an option and we've lost business if any competitor could set up a national network of DO's we'd be well f*cked, they probably cant because of the huge capital costs but its no easy job for our negotiators to balance all of this.

The reason I am going to vote No is reading between the lines, this could be used as a bullies charter by unscrupulous mangers. They pay offer I would grudgingly accept, however, the local flexibility is the deal buster for me.

So if the result of the ballot is a rejection of the "deal", what happens next? Do the same negotiating team go in again?

If so, what use would that be? So with the possibility of a change of CWU personnel before/during/after the ballot, that's not going to leave a lot of time before the start of xmas pressure.

If we take action before xmas, i wonder how much public support we are likely to get. They will feel that we are holding them to ransom and trying to spoil their xmas. You can bet your bottom dollar that the media will also fuel the image of posties as a bunch of workshy, money grabbing Scrooges. Be prepared to be taking some evasive action over the festive period. I'm digging my crash helmet out of the shed...just in case.

What new agreement proposal... its basically the same as before? What the hell were the union bosses negotiating on? Perhaps they were discussing what new cars and houses they would get as a bung in order to put forward this bullshit. Everyone I know will be voting "no" to this supposed "new" deal..... it wouldnt surprise though, me if it gets voted in through some shady dealing in the ballot..... like crozier accidentally wipes his ass on 85% of em so they arent counted.

............I'm not sure who I seem to be fighting against more, Croziers cronies or the damn union bosses. Kick em all out and put some sane people in please, this union leadership has its own personal, financial aggenda I'm sure of it

Maybe Messrs Hayes & Ward are hoping that we reject such a c*@p deal so they can then turn round to RM and say....... "it wasn't our fault, we did our best"

The good news is that most of those who worked in the strikes won't be members of the cwu and therefore won't be able to vote 'yes'.
Hopefully a lot of the waverers will also have left the cwu!
Fingers crossed that the rest of the 'yes' gang won't be bothered to post their votes, which leave us 'no' votes as the majority!

There you have it, its simple!
