SHAFTED
For those of you saying you will leave the CWU, you will be playing right into :lfo :cfo hands.
Leighton destroyed the union at Asda & it's what he wants to do with RM.
We have stand strong, together & fight this muppet show, we have been sold out, same deal different words.
Yes we all have a right to voice our opinion but we have to convince everybody to vote a resounding NO to show the PEC & Hayes & Co we will not be sold out for their political gains.
Have you all noticed that if we do reject the deal, the press will go to town on how the workforce had rejected a 5.4% pay deal this year when, in reality, we are rejecting a 2.1% deal with 7 months of pension contributions not paid.
We should all stand united & fight the shites, remove our political levy, I know the labour party only gets 1p of it, alledgedly, but to me thats a penny more than I want to give to Brown & Co.
Do the job properly & they can't add anymore on us.
United we stand.
A BIG NO NO NO FROM ME

Re: SHAFTED
From what I can see we are and have always stood strong... our weakness is at the top! Everything that we have been on strike for is either going to be dealt with at a later date or a agreed locally, when we are not on strike and have no leverage. As for the press it reminds me of the way forward lark and the unbelievable pay rise we got then, by incorperating the shift allowance into it as a percentage so it worked out at something out of this world like 40%. What they failed to mention was that we had NDA and Sat Premium had ceased! I personally couldn't give a sh*t what the public think anymore, most of them are already against us because they have already accepted crap like this and continue to do so in what they call the real world. My wife works in the real world as I'm sure many of yours do and she is sick of the spineless morons she works with, who will accept anything and everything thrown at them. I hope to god we get a NO vote, instead of posties voting yes to just get it over with as is I'm afraid typical. As for bonus payments etc... anything that is due for payment to us in years to come always ends up getting scrapped just before payment or used as a negotiation tool during any pay despute as if it is being given out of the blue and not already earned by us.esenorvill wrote:For those of you saying you will leave the CWU, you will be playing right into :lfo :cfo hands.

Remember, the way you do you job will affect colleagues for years to come - if you cut corners to do it quick, they will be expected to as well....and then RM will add extra work to fill the gaps.

re: RM & CWU spin on the agreement
Was watching the news last night and the reporter was holding three documents.
1. The official agreement
2. CWU interpretation as sent to it's members to vote on
3. RM interpretation, which they are using to brief management and frontline staff.
As with the classic theory of industrial disputes no-one ever gets exactly what they want, but employ the spinners and it all gets lost, and n-one quite knows where they stand.
How on earth flexibility will work is beyond me. I think RM were right to put forward the idea of flexiing the worforce with volumes, but let's be honest it wil be far more static than changing on a daily basis. What will be interesting is how you get people to take out un-covered walks. Was this a red-herring that RM eventually realised would be difficult to get in, and used it as a starting point to get the other changes in place?
The big savings will be made from taking out duties and actual people. For every employee you need to add on another 25% of overheads be it HR,Finance,Supplies etc...
I reckon something more along the lines of working 1hr less in the summer-time and 1hr more towards winter. As sometime said on here that creates a 4hr window of not being able to do anything else. This won't happen in reality as it's unstable, and management would find it too hard to work in such a flexible way.
I am trying to make a bad picture seem a bit better, but it relys on all people involved to take a pragmatic approach, i.e. staff, local union rep, and mgmt.
Good luck, but I would be surprised if there wasn't a yes vote as the no voters are mainly in a few urban areas, and with a one person one vote you will get voted out, but we'll see.

anyone who thinks pensions being taken out of this means some respite before they come for them:

so what happens in the near future, when this shifty ballot has been brought in(and it will),and royal mail decide to f**k us over with the pensions and definately the door to doors(and they will).
will we all be out the gate on strike again,or will we be without a legto stand on because this absolute shite deal has been brought in...
and it will,be brought in..my vote is a no,because this gives royal mail the green light to stomp all over us,but with this union do we really stand a chance of gaining anything better.what ever way you look at it we are going to get seriously turned over here and we have lost a f***ing lot...
