la's are now included in pay deal. the same la's who went through our picket lines to do double shifts doing our work.you could'nt make it up.

Hi, I've worked for RM for 7 years in a delivery office and never came across the term 'LA's'. Since this dispute started I've came across a load of things I'd never heard of, eg MDEC, Network Drivers, and more. While I assume we are all equally important and I treat all my colleagues with the respect they deserve (99% scab free) and I realise that this is a vast national company, I have a few questions.

1. What are LA's (I know what MDEC and Network Drivers are)?
2. Why are we paid different rates. I would expect drivers to receive extra, but why are MDEC paid less?
3. With the new 'deal' and 'local' agreements how will this affect pay rates across the country and the company? Will a posties in Scotland get less than a postie in Manchester for example. Sorry if I'm a bit thick but I'm just a lazy money grabbing postie, who's idea of a jolly jape is to lose 8 days pay, cause small businesses to lose £millions and bring the mail network within an inch of breaking down completely.

Anyway, I forgot, what is a LA?

Don't have them in my office. If they are eligible to join the union and will benefit from this strike agreement they should be ashamed of themselves if they didn't walk!
