PRDC (Princess Royal Distribution Centre) is not busy this year. Same issue in other mail centres or distribution centres?

Edinburgh Mail Centre much quieter than previous recent years. Less volume spread over longer period.

Talking from perspective in a DO. Every previous year to this one we have had at the very least 2 yorks of parcels queued up rolling over to the next day during the final week, only to be finally cleared on extra overtime during Xmas Eve.

This year for the first year I have ever known, the parcel shed is empty before Xmas Eve begins.

It's certainly the lightest Xmas I've seen - being the guy who would usually do the disaster clear-up at the last minute! Nice easy end to Xmas for me at last maybe...

Seems like other mail centres and distribution centres are quieter. Cos Amazon are do their own deliveries or people have less money to spend?

Was asking a royal mail old timer why its so quiet. He said a lot of people are doing click and collect to avoid delivery fees. Things like Argos letting you collect from sainsburys branches might be a factor.
