A Parcelforce driver at the centre of an investigation into the theft of a package from a house in Bristol 'no longer works' for the company.
Police were called in after a homeowner in Patchway found footage recorded by his CCTV system which appeared to show a delivery driver stealing from his house.
A spokeswoman for Parcelforce, which is part of the Royal Mail Group, told the Bristol Post: "Royal MaiI can confirm that the driver involved in this incident no longer works for Parcelforce Worldwide.
"We have no further comment to add."
The company said it will not comment further on the allegations while police are investigating.
Police earlier said that a 27-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the alleged theft.
He has been interviewed and released on bail until next month.
The house where the alleged incident happened belongs to 36-year-old James Harris.
Mr Harris claims the CCTV footage shows a delivery driver entering his porch without permission, then stealing a package from inside.
The man appeared to arrive with a large box, before entering the porch of the empty house and leaving shortly afterwards with both the box and another, smaller package which had been left earlier by a postman.
The incident happened on November 22, when Mr Harris received two separate deliveries.

A Parcelforce driver accused of stealing a package from a house in Bristol will not be charged by police.
A 27-year-old man was arrested after CCTV footage apparently showed a Parcelforce delivery worker stealing from a house in Patchway.
But police have now said that no further action will be taken "due to insufficient evidence".
The man was arrested in December after a homeowner claimed a Parcelforce driver stole a Royal Mail package from his house.
James Harris, 36, showed CCTV to police of the incident, recorded on the day a package delivered to his house disappeared.
It was also claimed £150 was offered to Mr Harris by Parcelforce "to be quiet".
A police spokesman said yesterday that the 27-year-old man who was arrested will not face charges
He said: "There is no further action due to insufficient evidence."
Last month Royal Mail, which owns Parcelforce, told the Bristol Post that the driver involved in the incident "no longer works for Parcelforce Worldwide".
The company declined to comment further.
