Sick Pay

Hello just wondering if this is right,being told if you go off sick then Royal Mail will stop your sick pay even if you have a doctors note covering you , first time on sick absence for years
Any ideas,

Royal Mail have always been able to stop pay when you are on sick, sometimes, but rarely even with a "fit note", but they can't do it arbitrally. There are strict circumstances and procedures that must be followed. The usual one is the person who is off sick refusing or failing to make contact.

(Of course there is also the 1 year working at Royal Mail before you get sick pay)

However, as your profile says Ex - I should add that not every business pays sick pay so if its another employer then processes will be different.

Doing this on behalf of somebody who still works for them not me,the other person is not on this site TBT
So does this mean RM are trying it on again as I said to the person report it to the union and let them sort it out

Yes, even if RM are doing it correctly, they still need the CWU on their side. But my feeling is they are just trying to pressure them back to work.
