MOVED TO NEW FORUM.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

If delivery spans remain at 3.5 hours then long or shorts my delivery still won’t be complete, someone will have to do it so who???

• Longs and shorts – a structural change where the normal work pattern may be rebalanced across the week to reflect the traffic profile. For example individuals could be scheduled to work 7 hours on a Tuesday and 9 hours on a Friday. Total weekly contractual hours would not change.

• Variation of hours – Where necessary, for example when traffic volumes are unexpectedly high or resourcing issues arise, individuals may be asked and may themselves request to vary their duty times by up to 30 minutes on a swings and roundabouts basis. Again, individual circumstances will be taken into account and total weekly contractual hours would not change

So, because YOU'RE retiring soon, the rest of us looking at YEARS and YEARS working for this shower of b'stards, should "accept it's time to change."

Two words, FECK OFF.
too right we will be working till were so old we will be delivering our own funeral notice mate
With nobody adequate enough to represent the working man/woman, even in the upper ranks of many unions, you're not wrong in your prediction
of the future, mate.

It's becoming more increasingly likely, that WE WORKERS may have to take matters into our own hands, in order to prevent a complete turning back of
the clock.

WHAT A LOAD OF F***ING SHITE, We all know that if anything is negotiated at local level then the weakest offices will be worse off and the stronger offices will have their reps persecuted and bullied, at Burslem weve just had 3 reps suspended along with 9 others because they were good at their jobs, and stuck it to the bosses, Hayes and Ward are there to negotiate on our behalf, not leave it to office reps to fight.
Ive just seen MSN news that Crozier says that the pension age has been increased to 65, i hope they are f***ing wrong, this isnt a deal its a sell out, the only good point is for Billy Hayes who has secured his post as a freeloading MP with his other mate Johnson, if ide have known i was going to get butt f***ed ide have worn a chastity belt,
F***ING UNBELIEVABLE...UNITY IS STRENGTH.
P.S SORRY MARGATE I FORGOT ABOUT YOU.....FECK OFF.

This was/ is the last hurrah for the union, the annoying thing, as pointed out was that support had been good for the IA and at our strongest we have twice allowed RM off the hook so to speak. Very fishy,I dont mind working my hours, but when they start messing about with my earnings and pension i have a problem. Trouble is the pension is still vulnerable and the D2D are still being bloody negotiated! AFTER MONTHS OF NEGOTIATIONS! Even our ace in the pack, christmas approaching seems to be lost. Unfortunatly like alot of you i think this will be accepted once it goes to a vote. Our solid support for IA counted for nothing, smaller local disputes will flare up, our advantage of keeping this national and official has been lost.I live in hope that things will not turn out too bad, i mean they can only get you to work your time. As an employee of RM i want the company to do well, unfortunatly the share holder and the top managers dont seem to share this feeling. This has put our negotiators in a very difficult position. It must be hard trying to negotiate, when there is a strong possibility the company as we know it will soon be radically different anyway, divided into different sections and probably privatised.Quite where we will all be 5 years down the line is worrying. But this "agreement has done us no favours.

It's up to us the rank and file. We have been let down by the leadership. Forget them. We can move this dispute on. We are 130,000 they are a few. The industrial action has been very effective, it is only because of weak leadership that we haven't achieved our aims. When this so called agreement is thrown out, our branches must now look at going all out on unofficial action. New leaders will naturally come to the fore who will truly represent what we are fighting for. This isn't a time to give up but a time to regroup and prepare ourselves for the fight ahead.

This ballot is two things as far as I'm concerned.

1. It's a vote of whether we all agree to be worked into an early grave at a cut price rate by Royal Mail, the Government and their CMA allies.

2. It's a vote on whether we have any confidence left in the PEC.

It's very plain to me. It's a bloody big NO!

Yep.

Too many people with to many of their own agendas. The bloke at the frame getting dicked about left, right and centre. More propaganda being flung around than at the start of the Third Reich. Too much mob mentality and a management and government apparently hellbent on subjecting another section of the working classes to humiliation and hardship.

It's a s**t job for s**t money and nobody is holding a gun to my head to stay. Conversely there is a gun being held at my head if I stay working for RM. Respect to you guys who love the job and have turned up day in and day out for years. I really hope you get a resolution that is good for you, but I wouldn't bet the keys to my house on it.

As long as I'm still a postie, I will support my workmates in whatever action is deemed necessary.

There's more to life than finishing work before noon.
