ADDENDUM TO PARCELFORCE WORLDWIDE – JOINT STATEMENT SUPPORTING OUR SECURITY STRATEGY TO SECURE OUR FUTURE AND REVISED SECURITY CODE OF PRACTICE – DECEMBER 2016 - ANNEX D
Dear Colleagues
Branches and representatives will be aware that at Annual Conference in 2014 the following motion was debated and carried:
Motion 63
This Conference notes that the recently revised Parcelforce Worldwide Security Code of Practice does not contain any guidance with regard to security checks being performed outside Parcelforce Worldwide premises.
The Postal Executive is instructed to negotiate an addition to the Security Code of Practice that covers security checks being performed by security managers whilst our members are performing delivery and collection duties.
Central Regional Parcels Committee
The business was duly notified that this had now become CWU policy and discussions have been taking place in order to progress this issue and in particular the process involved where customers wish to undertake a security check on their premises.
It has now been agreed to include an additional Annex to the existing agreement in relation to security checks performed on customer premises, therefore an Addendum to the current agreement (LTB 120/14 refers) has now been concluded and is attached for your information.
Branches and representatives will note that the attached provides guidance in relation to:
ID requirements when going to customer premises.
The process to be followed when ‘Vehicle Security Checks’ are undertaken and maintaining the integrity of the parcels that are carried.
Retention of vehicle keys by our drivers.
What our drivers should do when a problem in relation to Vehicle Security Checks occurs on customer premises.
A copy of the complete agreement as issued via LTB 120/14 with the additional Annex D has been attached to this document for your ease of reference.
The department believes that the clarification that is provided by the addition of Annex D to the existing agreement will be welcomed by Parcelforce representatives and members.
It would be greatly appreciated if Branches and representatives would ensure that our members are made aware of the contents of this LTB.
Any enquiries in relation to this LTB should be addressed to Davie Robertson, Assistant Secretary, email: dwyatt@cwu.org or shayman@cwu.org quoting reference number: 109.01
Yours sincerely
Davie Robertson
Assistant Secretary
