Spot on Curly, 6 months down the line we will have the same crap thrown at us again. Its got to be sorted now not fudged just because of some Gov pressure and Xmas coming.

You are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. If you read my post you will see that I don't accept the deal but I do accept the circumstances. If you have difficulty reading more than a sinlge line at a time I'll post each line individually. Those like you have a knee jerk reaction because you fail to see the consequences. If you think a No vote is a win situation go ahead - you can always say "I voted No".

I remember scab coal from Notts and the Union of Democratic Mineworkers was it - whatever the name a scab union for a bunch of strike breakers. Where are they now eh? They went down the road just the same with the NUM members - difference is the NUM walked with their heads high, bands playing and a proud legacy to their children - they fought like heroes in a fight that they all knew could not be worn. But they fought for their union and for the working class and for their principles.

Our fight was winnable and we have ended up with a fudge where everything has been thrown onto local agreements which quite simply is shite when we have a national union - weak workplaces full of strike breakers will be used as the 'models' to beat other offices over the head with and we could end up in a never-ending round of wildcat walkouts which would play right into the hands of RM but which are unavoidable when we have local managers out to make a name for themselves and climb the greasy ladder by increasing productivity and cutting costs.

Recipe for disaster for us and the company in my book. But then RM top bosses don't want the company as it is - they want chaos so they can destroy the union and sell us off. Btw when that happens approx 80 perc ent of Royal Mail management won't have a job so perhaps there is some justice in the world after all lol.

I for one believe there needs to be a major change at the top of OUR union. It has gone on for too long and has most of us had envisaged its a crock of poo!
We need to know, who on the evecutive voted for this to go to ballot.

Then kick them all out!!!!

So although I disagree with the agreement - I cant accept the term Scab on this agreement until the vote is in.

However, this is just my opinion and I dont want people on different sides of an argument calling each other names as it just denigrates yours and my position. Try arguing against his point rather than calling him a scab.

The difference is this time the Union balloted its members. Scargill just went on strike off his own bat!!
