read it again, and again.jungle boogie wrote:SORRY IF THIS PISSES PEOPLE OFF! ive just read the entire statement and wasnt exactly overwhelmed to say the least but i think its a reasonable offer and should be accepted,i understand all the 'to be agreed locally' is bollocks but the pay offer is better than the firemen and the nurses got and they save lives,im not undermining our jobs because i know first hand how much the job has changed just in the last few months so i think we should pull together and understand the need for change or we are going to get shafted with everything.the strikes have achieved alot of things,i think the pros outweigh the cons so lets all stop ranting and just get on with our easyish jobs earn a decent pay and enjoy life!!

thing is an i said this earlier, even if we all vote NO i've a feeling its gonna get pushed in anyway.
so where do we go now, we all stuck together over the strikes and showed them how strong we were, theres gotta be a way of getting this stopped before it comes to the vote. if we all feel so stronly about how crap it is, surely we've gotta do something instead of all leaving the union.

Personally i think it'll get a yes vote, just under 4,000 members on this forum even if we all voted NO that still leaves over 120,000 to vote, you'll have a huge percentage who will except the deal as they would'nt/could'nt strike again there'll be those that wont even read the agreement and just vote to except it,so they can back to work and start to bash the docket, you'll even get a big percentage who'll just tear the voting paper up i've personally seen that........its gonna be a hard pill to swallow for us who can see the bigger picture, like has been said before people are not only short sighted they are tunnel visioned as well.
I can see the workforce going back to "Status Quo"as was a few months ago, coming in early, back in the cars, overwieght pouches, management wont want to stop it as it makes their lives easy.
There is an old saying my Dad comes out with....The working man is his own worst enemy
Just gonna settle down and read the agreement, printed it off and its 12 pages long
