Hi folks, hope this is the correct place to post this, my apologies if not.
I attended one of the Royal Mail recruiting days in October to get some work as a Christmas Casual and happily was offered shifts at my local Delivery Office. I was given the standard provisional letter with my start date, shifts and induction time.
So I turned up to the Delivery Office yesterday, along with another chap in the same situation, spoke to the staff member on desk and was taken up to the canteen. Spoke with another staff member, who had no idea they were taking Christmas Casuals. He then spoke with the manager of the branch, he had no idea either. He contacted someone assumably higher up on the phone, and basically said that 'today shouldn't have gone ahead', and that 'someone else assumably from some other branch should of been coming down to perform the Induction', basically a whole heap of zero communication within the company. To cut a long story short, we were told to call the Christmas Casual Helpline, which now turns out is fully automated and of zero help. I've also sent an e-mail to the Helpline e-mail, but I suspect that may be just automated as well as I just received an automatic e-mail back with irrelevant info.
So just wondering if anyone at all knows who I could possibly contact next? Does anyone with experience of the CC Helpline e-mail know if I should expect an e-mail back?
Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

If I was you I'd be ringing your nearest Head Office. Seem to get more answers from there
