No notification of Security Check, but work starts tomorrow

I am due to start Christmas Casual work tomorrow, but I haven't received a confirmation of my DBS (security check) yet.
It's only been a week since I attended my interview, so DBS checks won't be returned yet. According to the email I received from Royal Mail states that these checks can take a minimum of 14 days, meaning that I have another week to wait yet, at least.
Am I supposed to turn up for work regardless, or wait for an email?
I have tried contacting Royal Mail, using the contact phone number and email address given. However, neither get through to a human being.
The phone number given just gets through to an automated system - no chance of getting to a human being. Then, the call disconnects.
The email address given keeps being being rejected and emails I send are being returned.

When I go to the status of my job application, it says 'Progressed against a different role". This, according to another email I received, is because the job I was interviewed for had already been filled, thus I was set up to work in another location.Apparently I can't check my status now, as a result. The email I received told me to await further instructions and to keep checking emails. I have received no further emails since, and yes, I have checked my spam folder too.

So, with no way to contact Royal Mail, and no way to see the status of my application, what can I do?

I'm in the same boat. I received a text on Friday saying URGENT – Unfortunately you have not cleared security checks in time for your start date next week.<LF>Please DO NOT attend site as you will be turned away. We will contact you to confirm when you are clear to be on site.

My registration/interview was on 6th of October!!! I was meant to be starting tomorrow 22nd Nov. No notifications other than that text message. My application also says 'progressed against a different role' I've been trying to contact someone to ask why it hasn't been completed yet, but all automated response. Absolute joke.
