Being a bloke I really don't mind using a hedge or ditch, though I have shocked the odd person who comes round the corner unexpectantly, my question is, is this acceptable or should as the booklet states "a return to the office be necessary."

Welfare Facilities & Toilets
According to the the CWU lighten the load booklet, "Access to toilets is a human right" I am a rural postman and out of the sorting office from 8am to 2pm with no access to a "proper" toilet or wash basin, although the managers in our office would say "use the toilet where you stop for a cup of tea" I do not have a tea stop.

I used to do relief cover at an SPDO near Cambridge that didn't even have running water, never mind a toilet. For all I know this is still the case now. The Postmaster told me that Anglian Water wanted £20,000 to connect the Post Office to mains water, which he couldn't afford. We had to go to the Postmaster's house (about 5 minutes walk) to use the toilet, and he used to bring bottled water in for the kettle. This was about 8 or 9 years ago.
I'm a Postman at the Henley Road Delivery Office in Cambridge.
