6 months contract

Post by Decpassat06 »

Helllo all, just done my first week and loved it..... my contract came yesterday, the position was supposed to be perminent in the offer email it said I will be subject to 6 months trail period which I new about, but it states in my contract that it ends on the 30th of the 4th 2017, 6 months from start date..... but the part that worries me is it says that your contract will end as Royal Mail expect changes in business regulations and I will no longer be required, is that normal?

Standard wording, I think all newbies contracts say the same, mine did.

It just means RM can get rid of you easily if they don't need/want you at the end of the six months.

As long as you keep your nose clean and are not a complete nightmare you should be alright for contract extension/permanent contract.

Don't worry about it, they all say it, I've never yet heard of anyone's not being renewed. The trial period is actually a year but they don't tell you that! Not that it matters as it's practically impossible to get the sack. Most newbies either leave quite quickly or can hack it and go with the flow, good luck
