Hi, can anyone tell me if it's possible that a Christmas casual role with Royal Mail could lead to a permanent position, or is this just wishful thinking? Has this ever happened to anyone on this forum? Thank you.

Yes me about 13 years ago.

However, its more of a foot in the door chance to impress situation. I didn't get set on immediately but the manager took note and me an another were contacted by recruitment and got 1st chance to apply for a permanent position.

Thing is you will still have to go through the permanent/temporary recruitment process to get a position, but the extra experience will help.

Also Mail Centre use casuals mostly at Christmas, but its rare for them to have permanent positions available because of recent mergers. Your best chance of getting a job in RM is in the Delivery sector.
