Brothercustard. i've been in the job about 6 months longer than you matie and can see where your comming from. I look at it this way, we were lucky in some respects that the big changes started before we got here and the "Old Timers" have had to endure a lot more than us. This is a good job and i wish i had joined years ago. Yeh the "SCHMBAG SCREWS" hav'nt got a clue how to manage( i use the term manage lightly) and the top brass are too busy sorting out themselves a Golden Handshake and a Peerage. We spend 4 hours under the spotlight of the "screws" then we are out. We go at our own pace. Chat to whoever we want and as a cherry on the cake some lovely comes to the door in a towel and a smile. No it aint the best job in the world but it aint the worst.KawasakiKid wrote:BIG AL' came in 3 years before you CUSTARD, promising to put a smile on all our faces. The sum of his achievements so far??????????/ :lfocustard wrote:ive only been in about 2 years so never did 2 deliveries but even in my short time the job has deteriated massivly.

chin up mate.
In life you come across boulders. It's up to you if you use it as a stumbling block or a stepping stone.

Might I suggest nude delivery!
Will it make you happy - well probably not in this weather - however a few cheery "good mornings" and a round of "have you ever been tickled in the basement missus" a la Ken Dodd and before you know it you'll be whisked off to somewhere like Netley or Whittingham. Those places are full of "happy" people". When you get a bit tired you just lean against a wall - they have mattresses on you know! Mind you I wasn't too keen on the jacket.

Before that Crozier came to Royal Mail I hadn't a care in the world except for the odd managerial tosser that I and others' have had the misfortune to put up with in days gone by.
When I joined back in the late 80s, we had some managers who you could have a laugh with, and there was one manager in particular who wouldn't stop to think of calling his manager a f*cking something or other. Well, maybe he didn't get away with it so often, but he was that kind of a bloke anyhow.
Personally though, we've been relatively lucky in the last couple (or more?) years at my sorting office as far as managers go. But, then again, no one can be really happy when you've got Big Al 'Lay-ton-of-stones' and Adam 'Cobblers' Crazier at the helm -- w*nkers!
You know, I came across something the other day. It's probably ancient by now, but it just about sums up how happy one can be when someone you absolutely despise is finally leaving the firm...

Premier League club chairmen were reportedly dancing in their executive boxes last week following the resignation of shy English gentleman Adam Crozier from the position of FA TV mouthpiece. Crozier has left his office in trendy Soho Square and retired to his ancestral starter home on Home Counties Isle of Bute.
Despite his hasty departure — which follows weeks of wrangling over exactly which lucrative corporate direction should be taken by the FA in future — officials presented Crozier with a leaving present of a pair of grandstand tickets to the Darlington v Hartlepool Boxing Day derby match and a signed card (a touching message from Ken Bates read "No hard feelings mate — good riddance arsehole").
But while Crozier's departure is not expected to cause any change in the FA's behaviour, it has caused a dramatic shift in football writers' view of Crozier. Many were forced to revise their previous opinion that he was an impetuous, arrogant, overpaid, oversexed and over here, and general consensus now is that he is brave, visionary, and worth every penny of his apparently exorbitant salary. It is believed the only thing that might stem the gushing torrent of praise is if he ever got his job back.
Good riddance!
We posties do things differently, but we still get shot at!

I read somewhare that an FA Exec had said when questioned about him that "I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire!!"Post Off wrote:Before that Crozier came to Royal Mail I hadn't a care in the world except for the odd managerial tosser that I and others' have had the misfortune to put up with in days gone by.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

happiness is supposed to be a state of mind!!
My mind is screwed. Not by the wife or the kids or the feckin huge mortgage payment. No my mind has been screwed around with by managment. the constant not knowing that today might be pick on me day. it might have been decided that i am too be pressured into f***ing up and getting the sack. or worse still bieng moved to different duties which i don't know. I have kept a low profile at work. there are many people on this site who work in my office they refuse to speak up on here. the dim witted screw thinks he knows who i am!!
maybe i could seek happiness from the fact that it drives him crazeeeeee not knowing.
as for the aggreement
christmas is coming the goose is getting fat
leighton and crozier are stupid twats
