I think this is a bit short sighted - of course the last 14 years of economic growth has left a lot of people feeling "things aren't great but at least I am doing ok". How long can this last? With a recession coming, jobs cuts already, wages rises below inflation and all the other problems (increase in chioild poverty in britain for instance) the feeling of "i'm alright jack" is not a permanent one - a lot can change when you get scaked by text message and your pension gets robbed to pay for some fat cats house. I bet 10 years ago most CWU members were fine with their union money going to Labour - now it is a different story.
As for Tory/Neo Labour, it's your fault and your bloody union subs which got Lab back only to have TB as male Maggie to f**k you over! So where next?

You aren't wrong Teebs. Those first Labour Party people like Kier Hardy, George Lansbury, Ben Tillet etc. were all working class people who were largely self taught. Their hearts were in the right place. The problem with using the trappings of state to gain power is that it doesn't take too long for those people to become the state with all the oppression which goes with it. Personally, I don't trust political parties to deliver the goods for the working class, and less so when those parties attract members of the middle-class.

As for anti-union laws, if Wilson had let Babs Castle get In Place of Strife on the statutes the UK would've been a far better place and Maggie wouldn't have got to No10 and inflict the damage she did.
Why don't you dig up Red Robbo to run the CWU and turn RM into the new British Leyland producing a s**t product that no one wants but the workforce can be "proud" as we all get our P45's... Dirty for PM

I've been a single parent for the last 8 years. Been looking for work for the last 2 years. Finally got offered a Christmas Casual job with RM. Was asked to start early at this new office you're talking about. Does that make me a scab? I don't know the ins-and-outs of this dispute. I know I broadly support the aims of the strikers, as presented on the news. I just want to have a job, and have a decent Christmas for my kids for once.

I hope every one knows liverpool coppera's hill have been on unofficial industrial action for the last 2 weeks over the unagreeed new start times. not only is this happening in delivery offices but also with changes to the processing staff who normally start at 21-45 being moved to a start time of 23.00.
Also while we were on strike all casual strike breakers and agancy strike breakers were being aloud to smoke in alll areas of the building this being be endorsed by managers and all being given free meals by quadrent

If you have evidence of people smoking inside then contact your local EHO who can fine both the smokers and RM for allowing it to happen
