from Equiniti shareview.co.uk website "Payments to your nominated bank account will be made via direct BACS credit and take at least 2 working days to clear. Please note that if you are transferring sale proceeds you have to wait for the trade to settle before requesting the withdrawal."

Postie45 wrote:great plan unless it goes down to 320 like Liberum have been claimed to say theyre worth. Truth is, I dont know if they will go up or down further. You seem pretty sure theyll go up so I hope they do, but I dont think its automatic like you make it seem.
Liberum are entitled to their opinion, but I think they are wrong.

RM still own surplus property worth an estimated £1bn, which itself alone is worth about £1 per share. Furthermore, Royal Mail Group's growth in future will not be nearly as dependent on the UK market as has been the case in the past. Have any of you seen how quickly the GLS part of the business is growing, each time a set of Group results are announced? GLS have just acquired a US Parcels business for $90m https://finance.yahoo.com/news/royal-ma ... 52463.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

GLS will in the future become bigger than the domestic UK letters and parcels business

Any taxable proceeds will be returned to your payroll for income tax and National Insurance Contributions to be deducted and the remainder will then be paid to you by your payroll at the next pay day. Any non-taxable proceeds will be paid direct to your bank account or, alternatively, via cheque if we do not have your bank details.

Do people think the shares will take a big drop like our ghost shares did a few years back.

NO!

Those 'ghost' shares were not shares at all. It was a profit-sharing scheme that Allan Leighton labelled Colleague Shares, in a deliberate attempt to mislead people into believing they were getting proper shares, like the ones that we now - ironically - actually have.

Of course, there is a slight possibility that these shares could fall to 0p.
There is also a possibility that Leicester City could win the Premiership for a second consecutive season.
These two possibilities have equal probability, in my opinion.

If the shares plummeted to such a degree that they represented a screaming bargain, you could be sure that a rival parcel company (or Amazon) would mount a takeover bid and you'd get a chunk of money for your shares. In that scenario, the price of the shares would be the least of your worries... your terms and conditions, and your job would be uppermost in your mind

Selling or keeping is all down to people individual circumstances, I understand. Thing is I can't help feeling, in regards to the 32% deduction, a sense of greed. These shares have been received with NO financial outlay, so in my eyes any gain is a bonus. Ok, the government are rubbing their hands but they were always going to get their share, they always do.
For us guys, if someone came up to you and said 'here's £2000 free' what would do?

I'd keep it (based on today's price of £4.85

Okay its a gamble but over the longer term shares have a good record of success.

While you keep them you'll get, what appears to be an average of £100 per year in dividends. SO thats £200 in 2 years. Plus a potential mark up of 32% even if the price stays flat. Where else would you get a 16% annual interest rate on savings aftér tax if you cashed it in today it would net you £2021.67

In essence you would need to see a 32% drop in the price to even stay flat and earn the same amount in 2 years time (not including the dividends) that's a price at around the IPO level of £3.30.

https://www.esp-portal.com/1/EPortal/rm ... Login.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; will tell yu your personal fortune after registering.

The first and biggest wave of shares become technically ours this coming week, but if you sell that wave within the two years afterwards, you will have Income Tax and national Insurance contributions deducted (~33%).

It's unlikely, but if you wait to sell, potentially the share price could drop 33% from the 485p it is now in two years time so any savings you would have made from NI/tax would be negated. Something to consider.
