Hi all,

I'm Chris working at Wednesbury as a postman. Five weeks in and so far so good. Busy days are hard going, like today was but staff and boos are being supportive.
One question to you lot is how long does it take for the walks to get easier? I'm getting faster b the day but still have problems on my last loop with really sore feet and knees.

Six months is when you get proficient, imo. Goes pretty much for any job.

I am 12 years in and my legs are still sore at the end of the day, except that now they are at the start as well. :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

As has been said before I guess its about 8 - 12 weeks before your body really gets used to the constant physical slog, but then after a few years, your body starts to rebel from it and bits start to fall off.

The sore feet and knees are supposed to stop? 18 years in and no-one told me this :-)

It does get easier, soaking your feet and long baths when you get home help - unless you are soaked to the skin then only a hot shower works
