I find it totally incredible that, despite Corbyns win, they think that he is going to change the face of politics. I think those on this forum opposed to Corbyn fully expected him to win and therefore there is no chagrin, however, certainly, my opinion is the same he will never lead the party to electoral victory and consequently his airy fairy leftist views will never be.

Nuclear deterrence is a minefield and whether it not works is open to debate. But one thing for sure, we are buying Trident 2 because it's more accurate, but Trident 1 was accurate to 90m, in a nuclear explosion yielding 100 kilotonnes I don't think 90m is going to make much difference.
The idea behind more accuracy is to enable much lower yield nukes to be used, and could lead to a lot less reluctance to use them,

So you would rather have a far right government who only look after themselves and their corrupt elites in the city of which we the British taxpayers bailed out because of objecting against airy fairy leftist views. Well if we did not have these views we would not have a vote nor would we have the NHS nor would we have unions or basic human right's. What is wrong with this nation is we get fed a diet of falsehoods by reading the newspapers and sky TV and we believe not what we can achieve but are told our place in the pecking order. Well time's are a changing and our time is now!dvbuk55 wrote:I find it totally incredible that, despite Corbyns win, they think that he is going to change the face of politics. Well it won't really matter because the new tridents will be in service long before Corbyn is in a position to do anything about it.DB1100 wrote:Nuclear deterrence is a minefield and whether it not works is open to debate. Middle England has changed and will embrace most of what Labour will offer us all and not just the few which the conservatives will and certainly only do for the few!dvbuk55 wrote:k979aaa wrote: Well time's are a changing and our time is now!![]()
Dream on k9 you're time will never come with Corbyn and his leftist views. You corbynistas fail to acknowledge that Jezza just doesn't have what it takes to persuade middle England that he is the messiah to lead us to a new understanding of the economy and a free for all and neither he nor his left wing successor will.

Keep telling yourself that right up until the next election proves you and the rest of the corbynistas wrong, when labour are annihilated and Jezza resigns. Then the real work begins of rebuilding an electable labour party.k979aaa wrote:Middle England has changed and will embrace most of what Labour will offer us all and not just the few which the conservatives will and certainly only do for the few!

The labour party is the only show in town for working people I guess your just another Tony Blair disciple hankering for the good old days of dodgy deals war and more deceit to cover up what he had done.dvbuk55 wrote:Keep telling yourself that right up until the next election proves you and the rest of the corbynistas wrong, when labour are annihilated and Jezza resigns. Being the only "unelectable" show in town is pointless for working people, the unemployed, the disabled, NHS, railways, energy, royal mail, none of which will benefit from left rhetoric.k979aaa wrote:The labour party is the only show in town for working people I guess your just another Tony Blair disciple hankering for the good old days of dodgy deals war and more deceit to cover up what he had done.

In 2015 the "working people" voted for a Tory government.
In 2016 the Scottish "working people" voted for an SNP government.
If the polls are even vaguely correct an election tomorrow would annihilate Labour.
If the Labour party are the " only show in town for working people" somebody better tell the "working people" that.
Is Corbyn the man to do that?
Based on the last 18 months....No.
The behaviour of momentum, "team Corbyn" and many of his supporters over the last few months has been an embarrassment to the Labour movement, read your own reply to dvb, read the arrogance in Jet's posts. calling people who don't agree with you Tories and right wing Blairite's, calling for deselection and basically trashing anything and everything that doesn't support Corbyn with childish accusations just isolates your own position and pushes more potential Labour voters away from the party and why? because they're not the kind of Labour supporters you or Jet like?
Well how f***ing wonderful for you, good luck building a serious opposition to a Tory government with that.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

ft, the Tory Government was only elected in 2015 by 26% of the electorate. A lot of core Labour voters didn't bother to vote because they weren't enthused by a Labour Party which was virtually the same as the Tories. Others voted for UKIP or Scottish or Welsh Nationalists for the same reason.fishtank wrote:In 2015 the "working people" voted for a Tory government.

In 2016 when Scotland voted for the SNP the Scottish Labour Party was run by the right wing of the Labour Party, and the election campaign was run by the likes of John McTernan, an adviser to Blair.
You are trying to blame the Left in the Labour Party for the failures of the Right.

Just seen McDonnell and Corbyn on the stage and they looked like a pair of shifty eyed pimps, pimping the leftist views that were outdated in the 70s. I hope the middle ground PLP do not pander to their pimping and remain strong and oppose the lefts infiltration of the labour party and I would be very happy to see a breakaway of the 172 PLP members to leave Corbyn with his 40 leftist hookers dangling on the edge of extinction. 172 members is a good place to start building a realistic opposition with policies that appeal to all.

dvbuk, I saw the coup plotters on tv yesterday standing by the bins in a back alley saying they weren't going to split. They know any split off will go the same way as the SDP.
Only a small minority of the 172 are part of the hard right Blair fan club. The majority will accept that the membership has overwhelmingly backed Corbyn and will come to terms with that.
