Hello. I understand they were doing trials for 1 pass on the css. Is this trial dead and buried if not what is the update.
Thanks

1 pass on the CSS has always been there as a possibility for use, it's known as walk sort. Mail can't be sequenced in a single pass. If you're thinking of 1 wave, that won't happen as for many batches, especially on a busy day you might have enough mail that you need to split a batch up, running so many boxes first, then running another load of boxes of the same batch as the next batch

If nationally they ever were to scrap sequencing and only walk sort instead then you could expect EVERY MPU to close as RM would likly get rid of all the CSS machines. My gut feeling is that they'd also get rid of all IMPs, iLSMs, CFCs and FSMs and go with something like the XMS machines which can sort flats and letters together.

Hmm! Our MC has been walk sorting mail for the last couple of weeks.Whilst running our inward plan they are
taking off certain offices then running the mail through two new plans. When asked the reason for this change
we were told " the DO's have asked for this" again Hmm !! :hmmmm

I'm wondering if eventually all wave 2 mail might get walk sorted only
