Who is in the wrong? Or is it no-one?

Post by MartinMail »

Saturday morning, 9:45am. I had just finished about 20 top floors in a row. When I pass a postman (he started 3 weeks before me) he starts telling, not asking, telling me to take his "No Access'" "Addresse Unkown" back to the office when I'm done, to put the stickers on etc... I wasn't rude but told him no chance. He starts swearing right in the middle of the street, "It's your f***ing writing"! I start shouting back at him. We exchange words for about 5 minutes then move on. He starts calling the manager, probably to say something about this. Who is wrong? And what should I expect tommorow morning?

:lfo :cfo

*** I was almost running up and down the stairs and had no plans to go back to the office as the most important football match of the season, so far, was a 12:45 kick-off.

he is wrong of course, it wouldn`t have been so bad if he had asked you to take them for him.

Until RM get their way, as far as I'm aware, each postie is still responsible for completing his/her duty. This includes completing the delivery and the return of undelivered items, either by pouching off at a local post office (remember them) or by giving them to a driver, to the delivery office. You do not try to bully a workmate into completing your job for you. Stick up for yourself MartinMail, see your Rep first thing Monday and let the rest of your mates know about this t***er. You are employed to do your own job, not his. I'm one of the first to offer to take stuff back for my mates if I see them, but they don't take the p*** and they would never ask me to 'kill off' for them, much less tell me.

yes Martin.Other postie is responsible for his/her own "deads" if undeliverable. If it were your writing he ought to have killed the mail off BEFORE going out on delivery.Def not taking em with him.

Put in a counter claim. You shouldnt have to put up with nonsense like that.

Stay strong.
