getting duty tested

Post by DB1100 »

I've been tested outside a couple of time's,once I even saw one of the managers hiding behind a hedge and peering around the corner,I deliver on a pretty rough estate and it was funny listening to the abuse he got because folk thought he was a benefits inspector, anyway as far as I know there is no outdoor standard for speed as long as you don't dawdle you will be ok,because let's face it,if they set a standard for a 20 year old how can they expect a 60 year old to achieve the same standard this is why they are so reluctant to test you outdoors and anyway nowadays with the new PDA's they can track you anyway.

use trolley (i always do anyway)
take breaks (i normally just take 20 minutes before going out) are you even allowed to take 20 mins after leaving the office? i know you are allowed to take 40 inside if you want.
do not walk and sort letters at same time
dont put door 2 doors together
knock on 3 neighbours with tracked items
all mail should be brought to me while at the frame
complete van checks
do toilet breaks

anything else?

done 1 minute prep test and indoor, getting tested outside tomorrow, if you get back to the van and say for example theres no packets to be delivered are you expected to go find your partner to help him do his? also how light would a loop have to be for them to expect you not to use your trolly? most of the loops are more than two but the very odd one might just be a bundle. shall i still be using my trolly? what about when doing flats?

You should go and help your partner anyway, plus if you don't they will say you aren't working as a team,if your duty has been deemed to to an LWT walk you should use your trolley all the time, but remember the rules,i'e flaps should be kept secured and the trolley shouldn't be out of your sight for to long( I think it's 1 minute but not sure) specials shouldn't be left in it unattended, flats are ok if you can get the LWT inside the building otherwise use a pouch,if a loop was only a single bundle I would use a pouch, but I personally have never had just I bundle for a loop, hope this helps

if nothing is done, just keep following cut off procedure, heck youve demonstrated it takes till 4.30 so i imagine you would be bringing about half your work back everyday on that basis.

Most likely will try move you to a do able walk and stick a runner on yours who likes overtime. Man management or resource to workload or summut....
