Wow that's a long time to have waited! By the looks of things, it's really varied in the length of time it takes for people to get a response. But it's good to know I'm not alone, hope you get a reply soon! :)

I had a interview two weeks ago and also have not heard anything :( I'm just hoping it's because of the holiday period and will hear soon .

one of the causes for slow recruitment about this time every year is because they need 18,000 to 22,000 casuals for the weeks before Christmas, getting ready for that during August and September seems to slow everything down.

It takes a minimum of 12 weeks from start to finish, it can be weeks before you hear anything. Royal mails recruitment process is weird, they can only recruit every 3 months so if you've just missed one quarter then it can take up to 20 weeks it's got to be the slowest process ever!!!!

I applied over a month ago for a perm job and it still says 'testing complete' but no rejection email or offer of an interview has arrived. Now they are advertising for Xmas temps in the sorting warehouses as well... they must end up with a huge backlog of applications to sort through.Griffsters wrote:Hi Lana - I have one that is just shy of 4 weeks that still says 'Testing Complete'. I'm hoping there has just been a delay with the recruitment but i'm not confident tbh. Its my nearest DO as well so have everything crossed!

Thanks for all the advice, guess it just takes time and I'm gonna have to be patient. I won't lose hope as long as I haven't gotten a rejection email :)

With 500 years of history, and once you have joined us, you'll realise that a lot of what Royal Mail do happens at a Glacial pace, except for actually delivering the mail.

I got put on a waiting list as well. Just make sure you email every time a job you want comes out. I waited a week after the waiting list and got offered the same job I got interviewed for in the first place.
That's me now a week into my security checks. From what a read it should take around 2. Or could it be longer?

do you know why you got offered the job you were interviewed for is it because someone else drops out? I have just been put on a waiting list

So I got an email yesterday saying I've been unsuccessful which is a bit disappointing as I think I would have been good for the job, but wasn't even able to show that as I didn't get an interview. So I guess I'll just have to keep a look out for other positions, thanks for all the advice you gave me everyone :)

That is identical to what happened to me. Passed interview, put on waiting list, applied for same position when they re-advertised it a week later. Got conditional offer and am going through security checks.Scotland1990 wrote:I got put on a waiting list as well. Just make sure you email every time a job you want comes out.
