Does anyone have any experience of being put on a waiting list? Do u normally get a job offer? How long does it take?

Can't give exact figures but a lot of people now working for Royal Mail were once on a waiting list, me included (3 months) and 12 years later here I am.

Me too was put on a waiting list yesterday just wondering if there's much chance of hearing anything within the 3 months ,would you only hear if a vacancy come up at the job you applied for ? Also my status now says unsuccesful .doesnt say waiting list is this correct ?

Mine too, and apparently it should say waiting list, u should email them.

Did you mean yours says unsuccessful too ? ive just emailed them and put waiting list candidate as subject and asked them if it should read waiting list under status

I've just been told it should say unsuccessful on Candidate profile even though on a waiting list but then I was told different yesterday.

Got out on the waiting got the job very soon after. Just make sure you email for all abaliable jobs.

There's only Xmas temp jobs now, gutted as my interview was three weeks ago so already nearly a month into the waiting list!

Emailed yesterday not had a reply from royal mail yet re what the status should say ..who told you it should say "waiting list"?
is our only chance if we find another job advertised or hoping that someone offered the job drops out?
