The saga continues. Got an e-mail today saying I'd get my ballot by the end of next week.

Got mine today as well.
You don't think they could have been leaving it as long as possible in the hope that the smaller window of opportunity could have meant some missed the boat ?
Wouldn't put it past them - they've tried just about everything else.

No they haven't, they're just f***ing incompetent.
It's been like this in every leadership contest or Labour membership vote I can remember.
The only difference this time is that every screw up is being analysed for evidence of a plot by the lizard people or Tony Blair.

Well yes FT - but it wasn't a screw up when they tried to keep JC off the ballot altogether - nor when they denied paid up members the vote. It was a conscious and anti democratic attempt at subverting the will of ordinary people.
We still don't know the effect of all their (and I am talking about the Labour Party Establishment) shenanigans on the outcome.

Has nobody recieved ballot papers through post.

Good question. I don't know the answer.

I must say, wether by post or email, the counting process needs looking at very closely. The lengths the party grandees have gone to over the last few months I would (in all seriousness) put nothing past them.

According to the leadership election website, regular Labour party members got an option to do paper or electronic.Us union folk only got electronic.

I received postal ballot paper as well as electronic vote, as I'm a full LP member. I used the electronic vote, as the postal vote could get lost or delayed in the post.

The electronic voting seems to be pretty secure. The ballot is conducted by the Electoral Reform Society, not the Labour Party, so it should be impartial and reliable, as far as anything can be.

The Labour officials have sought to eliminate as many members from voting as they can, some on the spurious grounds that they have tweeted support for other parties such as the Greens in the past. You would think they would be glad that people are returning to Labour. And didn't they accept a Tory MP who defected to Labour.
The most recent revelation was that they banned GMB non-contributory members from voting - the GMB makes members with 30 years membership non-contributory. The GMB has supported Owen Smith but the LP bureaucracy seems to think that older members might vote for Corbyn.
