New BLEEPING tracker BLEEPING box in BLEEPING vans

Where did it ever say that drop boxes were not to be used? Majority of our office uses them, very few do park & loop.

I'm a driver, and I drop bags into boxes for my partner, we don't see each other til we have both finished our separate walks. It's my understanding that dropping bags into boxes should be part of your delivery time, and not designated packet time.

On the tracker: used a Vauxhall combo twice with one, rarely went off. It's not job and finish any more, so if anything, if you are doing the job as you should, and their tracker can give evidence of your location ( IF it can even do that ), then to me, this gradually eliminates the runners? I'd love to be one of the guys who is scared of having a tracker because they could catch me skiving for 30 mins. And if you are driving erratic because you feel pressured into finishing on time by management, then why aren't you using RM's tools/procedures against them?

I guess I can't really have a valid input as I only used a van with one a few days, but this topic screams to me "runners upset"

My dom told me that the drop boxes aren't supposed to be used anymore, after I accidentally snapped a key in the lock of one and he couldn't get permission to get it repaired. But he encourages the use of all the non damaged ones, and quite right too

Until they split into 3 HCT rounds and 1 van duty, the pair of shared van duties in my office both had multiple streets where you dropped the passenger off at one end of the street to deliver one side of the road, drove to the other end and started delivering the other side of the street. The first person would then drive the van back to the start of the street and pick up the person who'd been driving originally.

If you continue to leave the van with the engine running you'll not get your EVR wish but you may be out of the door. Don't give them an easy excuse to sack you.

I was asked by the DOM whilst covering the vehicle locker to match Van's to drivers on specific days.
The report that was then compiled was an " Idling report "
It highlighted all drivers that were sat in vans with the engine idling & not moving for a period of over 5 minutes...

I know of two drivers in our office who have been asked about their driving one is an idiot so with a bit of luck he will now drive safely the other was for leaving the van running stationary for over 30mins, he was regenerating the filter in the morning rather then when the engine was hot at the end of his duty. These can be a good way of saving fuel and cutting down on accidents how cost effective they are will depend on how us drivers adapt the bad habits we have picked up over the years.

I'm a driver at Walsall DO and in October 2015 had this Trimble device fitted. In February 2016 sent a E- mail to managers Union and health and safety about the constant noise in the cab. The leaflet they asked us to read no4 said at any time there should not be any noise or distractions in the cab, well now there is. It's very concerning because you are constantly looking at the box when it bleeps. Like I said in my E- mail I've got no problems with it being in the cab for good driving and saving fuel but the noise is not good if you drive all day. And yes Royal Mail haven't even replied to my E- mail they done the usual trick and turned a blind eye. Frustrated Walsall driver

Yeah in our office the DOMs are starting to speak to the "bad" drivers about their driving, and are congratulating the "best" drivers of the week.

We've also been told about some other awful drivers elsewhere in the country. Apparently one chap in deep rural Aberdeenshire had gone out on delivery about 9am and did not stop his engine until he got back to the office at about 3pm

Im Furious
Been on collections for 20 years , no convictions for speeding . I class myself as a good safe driver . No accidents !!! When this trimble was placed in my van i got scores over 90% . Went on leave for 2 weeks came back to my van and the scores have dramatically dropped to a bad driver when i'am still driving the same ??? Tell me why ???? I'am 52 years old not a young kid who has something to prove with his ford fiesta and go faster stripes painted on the side ... How dare they tell me im a bad driver .. This is ridiculous !!!! Im so annoyed ... The engine now in my regular van is labouring at 30-32 mph and shaking cause i believe its coked up with stupid slow diving speeds just to please this little trimble gadget .. Please share your comments ... Im fed up

These trimbles are in no way accurate or consistent, I've used numerous different vans with them whilst covering the same duty, driving the same roads at the same pace, some of them are almost constantly going on amber and on to red occasionally, whilst others stay on green virtually all day with maybe just a couple of brief blips on to amber.

Sounds like someone has used your fob. Each fob is personalised to each driver so this shouldn't happen.
