Hi,
I'm expecting a parcel from Moldova in the mail. I have been able to track it as far as it leaving the country but there's no further tracking. On the RM track site it just says there won't be any info until it's delivered.
Any ideas if they will show when it arrives in the UK etc ? It left 7 days ago so should be in the country by now ?

It might (but only might) be scanned when Customs hand it over to Royal Mail at the HWDC Mail Centre, but other than that it will be impossible to track if its a signature only service.
It is probably already in Customs but there seem to be some delays, which unfortunately Royal Mail have no control over.

Thanks, I couldn't remember when I've got parcels from abroad before but I'm sure it was scanned at Heathrow when it arrivedTrueBlueTerrier wrote:It might (but only might) be scanned when Customs hand it over to Royal Mail at the HWDC Mail Centre, but other than that it will be impossible to track if its a signature only service.

Still no update which is unusual ? There's nothing to say it's even hit the UK although the RM tracking page does say it will only be scanned when delivered. It left from Moldova on 20/8 according to the tracking available on another site.
Anyone any idea if this may be getting checked by customs or even if it's in the UK ?

It's probably stuck in customs, many items take 2-4 weeks to clear HMRC at the moment. Most items do not show that they have arrived in the UK until they have cleared customs, and as you mention some combinations of service & country of origin have no scanning in the UK until delivery or attempted delivery.
"In the UK" is an interesting description. If you land at Heathrow from a trip outside the EU, you can be physically in the UK but not legally in the UK until you have cleared passport control & customs. The same is presumably true of parcels waiting to be processed by customs.

Someone else said on here that the courier companies pay customs money to give their items priority, which I guess is part of the reason that they cost so much more than the normal post.Shottsguy22 wrote:I had a courier parcel sent and received it in 5 days, postal system is crazy and slow
