Suspicious 'foaming post box' in Chanterlands Avenue sparks security alert

Crews from Humberside Fire and Rescue and Humberside Police cordoned off part of the footpath and the post box, along with access to Westbourne Avenue West, after reports of a "suspicious powder".

It has since been confirmed the white substance was dry powder from a fire extinguisher.

One nearby shopkeeper, who did not wish to be named, said: "I noticed some white power around the base of the post box earlier this morning but just thought some kids had been messing around with some flour.
