instead of asking bob Gibson, why not ask moya how absorption is supposed to work and if the things you are experiencing (take it out for a drive and bring it back/sort it back for tomorrow/fail delivery) are meant to be happening.

Our Dom has announced an unit revision. No one in our office does lapsing although we do have lapsed rounds. It normally gets done by someone on overtime or a casual. Plan is to merge the lapsed rounds with the rest of the other rounds. Has this happened in anyone else's DO!

maybe we should raise public awareness of the huge inefficient usage of diesel day in day out across the country by different post vans going to one specific area instead of just one post van going to that area. Sometimes we have to go way across town just to deliver about 10 minutes work. Think of the combined extra emissions across the country in the name of lapsing.

Lapsing is an enabler used by royal mail to give you more work so they can cut hour's that equal's duties job's and reduction in the workforce any short term increase in fuel usage will be more than made up for the cut in job's!

Do you think they would give a f**k since they don't give a f**k about our pension scheme or good customer service.

Yep in our office and others in our area. Came in one Monday and the lapsed rounds had been added onto the other frames. Still expected to take a part off another lapsed round during the quiet summer period.

I asked the question of our rep many times and he said no, we also all had our hours changed to longs and shorts and the rep said that didn't cause a repick. Think the fact he's not very high up the seniority list and has a cushy round he doesn't want to lose had a lot to do with it

bypass your local rep and go to the area rep. By all means do this via phone for speed but you must follow this up with a letter and cc in the recipients next in line i.e. local rep cc in area rep and branch sec and chair if sec and area rep are same person, area rep cc divisional rep. emails are good as they are timed and dated.

I think the public would be more interested to know that the area they live in quite possibly doesn't have a regular post man, where mail can be delivered by 6 different people a week, often well past normal delivery hours, if it even gets delivered each day at all. Would piss me off if I was in a house on a lapsing area and I wasn't a postie.
