So i have an interview next week for a postman job - 24 hours per week, 6 month contract.
Thing is i don't own a house yet, and me and the girlfriend will be hoping to buy one in the next year or so. Has anyone experienced buying a house whilst on this sort of contract? Girlfriend has a permanent full time job of about £20k yearly so that would go towards it yoo.
Also side question - i take it you no longer need to photocopy the counter part of driving licence for interview, seen as they are not used anymore?

If I remember rightly paper counterparts had just been knocked on the head when I was interviewed but I think
HR emailed me later to get me to get an online code so they could access my licence details once I'd passed the interview.

I bought a house a year or so after starting. I was gutted that no mortgage company I went to would take any of my earnings into account at all because I was on a fixed term 6 month contract, even though I'd done 40 to 50 hrs a week for the entire time I'd been there, over a year!
I was fortunate that I was made up to permanent soon afterwards because that changed the situation completely.
