HELP PLEASE. What shortlist status means?!

Hello there!!
I applied about one month ago for a position as delivery driver. I filled the form and a logistic test and sent the application. The status of the application is been under review for almost 2 weeks. I noticed now that the status turned into shortlist. What that means? Did i passed the first stage?! I didn't received any email since i applied and im wondering if there is still any chance.
Anybody can answer please?! As i read the previous posts none mentioned the shortlist status.

I'm a bit surprised nobody has yet got back to you. Surely shortlisted doesn't sound that bad. I suppose at a later stage they would call you for an interview. But mine is just an assumption, I'm not the best person to answer your questions.

Hey mate. Thanks for the reply. Yea im surprised too no one could give an answer to my question. Lol i still shortlisted and i didn't get any email yet to find out what to do next! I will wait and get my finger crossed!! Id really love to get this job!! Thanks anyway! :)

I think the reason you haven't had an answer is probably because no one knows beyond the basics which you have worked out.

Deliveries is the biggest section of workers on here and in Royal Mail, probably nearly 100,000 walking posties these days. But as you had to do a logistics test that means you are going into a fairly small, in comparison, function and I'd be amazed if we have more than 10 people on here from Logistics (Network ?) so I am afraid you are probably would have to wait a bit of time for a reasoned and informed answer.

i thought all the applications are following the same process despite the job description. Anyway i still got shortlisted on my application hope so it's something good and to hear from them soon!

No afraid not, us knuckle draggers

are classed as unskilled labour. Logistics is big trucks and forklifts and loads of skill.

. People go on long courses to get out of deliveries into Logistics.

Just kidding, but the higher the skill level the more involved the recruitment as the cost outlay is higher so they take more care I guess.

Good luck, though, hope you're kind to the posties you pass in your big truck.
