Travelling to work

Post by Layor Liam »

Hi all,

Simple question, does any of you drive to the workplace? I suppose many do but I wanted to have confirmation.

I applied for a DO (Dartford) which is about 20 miles from where I live and I was wondering whether that's a normal distance. Plus, do delivery offices usually have car park facilities for employees?

Thanks.

I commute to work and back - but thats a lot less than your mileage. 10 at most for the whole day.

No. Royal Mail do not usually have car parking facilities for employees, at least at Delivery offices. Google Maps makes it look like parking is at a premium at Dartford

My DO has car parking but not enough for everyone...I was sent to another office which had none but they let me use their yard but that was only due to it being a one off.

As always thanks for the replies guys.

Well, I could travel by train but driving would be cheaper.

When I applied I thought that I shouldn't be picky despite of the distance. I said to myself, if you wait for a chance of a job near to where you live you will end up waiting for ever. After a week the practical joke materialised, two opportunities close to me turned up (Chatham and Rochester). But I'm pretty sure there must have been many more applicants than Dartford.

We will see whether they call me for any interview. I take it from there at the moment.
