Having to complete a round that is 5hrs plus in less than 4hrs, doesn't work. Go in, even sequence has been put in the slots, miss sorts piled up and then get moaned at for saying can't complete on time. When other lads are leaving the office as you walk in! trying to move to another office as I hate the one I am in, all been ok'd by everyone and heard nothing! if the move doesn't come off I am off. Lads in depots are great, just hate the bullying and managers swearing at me for not being able to complete!
They make everything a hassle. I've been away now about 12 days and do feel relieved if I'm honest. I feel it was the right decision for me. So just do what you feel is best. I knew deep down, it just wasn't the sort of environment that I wanted to go into everyday. Nice bunch in the office, ruined by terrible management. There MO is to bully people into doing things they don't want to. There are other jobs out there, just keep your eye out if your looking for a change.

Resigned on Friday, told didn't get my move as I wouldn't do OT one particular day in depot I wanted to go to. Same day I was told couldn't have day off to see my step daughters graduation, wasn't in best of moods. Just said I had an appointment, got quizzed as to what appt was, just said thats my business not yours. She has gone crying to manager, who then blocked my move.

Unfortunatey the job has gone to the dogs. When i first started 8 years ago i loved it. But it has got steadily worse over the years. Unless you are a full timer with 20+ years service your going to be treated like dirt. I am also on the verge of packing it in, life is too short. The job takes its toll mentally & physically. I am only 30 but after 8 years of getting drenched & walking the streets ive got aches & pains with bones cracking every 2 seconds. Weekends are virtually non existant working every saturday then too tired to do anything. It definately makes you older before your time. I applaud anyone who handed in their notice as I would do so in an instant if i had another job to walk into!

I think with our current rate of pay and Royal Mail's 9% pension contribution on top is pretty generous. Not to mention the opportunity to earn more with overtime, and a strong union behind us, and a relative degree of job security.

Very few jobs at this level in the private sector will compare to that, and with these uncertain brexit times ahead of us you have to be careful.
Are you serious ? You must be on a piss easy job to even think like that . Worst job ever no life s**t pay one day off a week . 20 years plus . Have a word sad case

to be honest, my experience at RM is more like norms, but i dont doubt other places dont have it as good, and i dont see my place staying as (comparatively) good as it is forever.

Delighted to say Ive resigned too. Feels great. Good job ruined by poor management. Now working Mon - Fri. Flexible hours. Message to anyone thinking of leaving or unhappy at work - keep applying for jobs. It'll happen eventually.

but also worth holding out for the ability to withdraw the bulk of shares in october, to be honest i think many are and we may see a max exodus, should get about £2,200 or so after tax.

It's more common than you think. I know people who have earnt 40K+, as they still get allowances.

And the posties in London won't have much trouble pushing 40K either. Although if they keep enforcing this 70 hour week it might get a bit harder. :nervous

This is a good job..for senior full timers with nice rural duties who have been on the same delivery for years. I know a few in my office. Nice blokes and I've nothing against them but they live on another planet compared to what some of us have to put up with.

When you are at the other end getting bullied, abused, picked on,treated unfairly and shafted by getting moved all the time until you are so depressed you lie awake most of the night dreading going in again the next day..life isn't quite so grand.

Royal mails two tier system of working.
Yeh jobs a horror now .physically mentally everyone's suffering. Hate the place.
