Redirecting correctly

Post by kinmad4it »

Just a moan as it's one of my pet hates.
Why do some people not bother using redirection bags for redirecting? It smacks of arrogance and definitely laziness when all they do is wrap a lazzy band round them then slap the redirection sticker over the lazzy band. What must the customer think also. They've paid for a service and they get a half arsed job done for them. It only takes a few extra seconds to do it correctly, so why can't some be bothered.
What I would do if it wasn't probable willfull delay is any time I get those sort of lazy redirections I'd take the lazzy band off, then send the letters back as missorts. Be they within the same ofice, intra or even forwards.

Hear what your saying and i do put them in bags etc, but what bugs me is how many i get, last count i had 54, bloke on walk where i live has 72,
he asked line manager when, has he has so many he is supposed to do them and he was told "Do they as your throwing off your mail" another pearl of managerial
wisdom from our manager, I mean if he took 1 min to do each redirection hes going to be doing them for 70 mins +

70 odd rediretions  OUCH!!
Bloke who the delivery next to me has 60 odd of the buggers. When we get the message for final clearance how on earth is he supposed to remember each and every one of them.
One thing I've noticed on a few occcasions when I've come back after a rest week is the amount of letters returned saying adressee gone away, when there's a redirection for them :d'oh! They have trouble covering my duty when I'm off as no one wants to do it, so it usually goes out on overtime or by casuals. Which invariably means the redirections aren't done.
It is a ballache sometimes trying to get the managers to replenish the redirection bag stock, but someone always has some somewhere. So there's no excuse for shoddy workmanship.

We were supposed to start surcharging unofficial redirections, but that never happened.

when i was doing deliverys i went to the post office and got some redirection forms and took them out with me giving one to anyone whos house was up for sale, almost everyone who took the redirection form used it i also gave a form to the new people moving in so that got rid of unofficial redirs from my walk,
now im in a mail centre im plagued by the stupid things
