If Corbyn goes, its of no consequence to me who they elect as leader to replace him - I'll never vote Labour again.

Would be time for a new party of the Left in my view - with the Tories, Lib Dems and Labour all occupying the same ground (as indeed, they do today).

I was only thinking earlier as I was out delivering, how is it that the Tories are being let off the hook for their massive shortcomings ? I mean, what do the Conservatives stand for these days ? Does anyone know ? The free market perhaps ? How is it then that only today the "independant" Bank of England has intervened to enable the banks to create more fractional reserve debt ?
Do they stand for meritocracy then perhaps ? Not when we have the worst figures in the western world for social mobility bar none.
Economic stability/a safe pair of economic hands etc ? Zero hours contracts, historic levels of public and private debt, property (and other asset) bubbles, social and economic exclusion on a grand scale.

I was thinking to myself, how is it possible that they are able to get away with this, seemingly unchallenged by the Labour Party.
And then I realised why - the Labour Party cannot go on the offensive because they have been guilty of the exact same incompetence and have implemented the exact same policies, thereby politically neutering themselves and rendering themselves silent.
The Labour Party have compromised themselves so much to middle England voters, in order to gain power, that they have not only betrayed (Scotland) vast swathes of their natural heartlands - they have effectively rendered themselves useless as an opposition. They have provided no alternative to the status quo - and if you think thats in question, have a good read of tommorrows Chilcott Report.

Corbyn is the alternative.

Only if a chimpanzee is not available. Keep banging on about how good he is and you could be roped into his cabinet. Can you not see the man is dead in the water jetblack. As for not voting Labour again that is a very strong possibility because if Corbyn doesn't go there is most like going to be a split with the 172 PLP breaking away to leave Corbyn with his 40 loser mates, well that's if he's still got 40.

I was just wondering whilst I wasn't out delivering today if there was any chance of me picking up a nice blonde woman for a good time :chuckle :wave

Welcome to deselection my friend :wave .

That is, of course, if they don't do the decent thing of their own volition.

Anyhow, lets see what Chilcott unearths tomorrow hey ?

BTW - in the linked article above it also mentions Corbyns support of decriminalising the sex industry. Yet another reason the man should be applauded IMHO - but for which he seems to be getting stick instead .
Forget about renationalisation and allotments, surely here at least there's a policy that you can appreciate and would find to be of practical benefit dvb ?

(And before you spit your dummy out the pram I am in no way trying to insinuate that you are a sleazy old John :Very Happy :Very Happy)

I should think not postman has already warned about calling me names  Oh and BTW I wasn't thinking of spending any money , I thought my charm, good looks and personality would be enough.

What on earth has the Chilcott report got to do with the price of eggs? It has already been stated that Tony Blair will not be brought before any court if Corbyn thinks his reiteration of how against the war he was - big deal it's not going to change a thing. Everybody and his grandma knows that the decision to go to war was the wrong one and frankly scarlet they don't give a damn.

Legitimacy.

No they don't.

175 people were killed yesterday in Baghdad - some Labour MP's voted for a war on (the otherwise stable and functioning country of) Iraq - and some didn't.

And you, and your kind, want to take us back to an "electable" kind of Labour party ? What ? Like in 1997 ?

Have to say I'm very disappointed in the response here regarding Corbyn

Would have expected more people to have actually looked at the guy and what he stands for before blindly believing the media claptrap - of course of you did and still feel like this then fair enough ( before you all get your knickers in a twist)

I don't believe the media.
I believe the people I talk to.
Mostly lifetime Labour supporters.
Not Labour party members.
Not professional "activists".
Not fans of Blair either.
Not likely to support a Corbyn led Labour party.

This is an ex-mining town, if he can do that to this town how the hell does he hope to win over middle England?

And 130 were killed in Paris recently.

Would I take the Labour party back to an electable force - what a dumb question, what on earth good is a party that ISN'T electable - if you want to be a member of a party that is forever going to remain unelectable maybe you should join the Green party or more mainstream the Lib/Dems.

Jeremy Corbyn :Boo hoo! Sayonara

OK Jezza, Chilcotts out, big cock up but there you are 13 years on - you can resign now you've made it clear how against the IRAQ war you were. Then, just like now, nobody pays attention to you.

If that's what Corbyn has been waiting around for it was a bit of a let down.
It kind of blows the conspiracy theory out of the water, I doubt Blair was worried too much about being savaged by a toothless Corbyn, if he has anything to worry about it will come from the families of soldiers who gave up their lives for another pointless politically motivated war.

Unfortunately there have been many of those.

We always seem to find somewhere we can engage in conflict even when we aren't at war. One saving factor is new technology means less actual physical contact and that will only escalate in time, Robocop is just around the corner.

Mmm really? I've heard this similar thing so many times yet seen the lengths local yobs will go to to 'salvage' (steal) anything metal. I really do think think robo armies just aren't gonna work for quite some time. Maybe a century or two?

One of the problems of having robot armies is having people accept them, perhaps you're confusing the I robot two legged marching robot with what is actually possible and practical to cover terrain and destroy targets - as for a century or two, well believe it or not the technology is here today. Take a drone for example smacking ass in Syria, Afghanistan being controlled from thousands of miles away now put the same technology in an armoured vehicle barrelling down the road without a driver or at least not in the same theatre of operations, the recon is done by a drone, air support by a drone and the operator acts on the intel received.

Corbyn is some old version of Robocop, though.
Problem is that everyone had lost the old punched-tape software loaders, so he's stuck on the ideas and hopes of the late 1960s. No updates available.
Maybe the catchers from the film AI will eventually get him.
