Taken off waiting list

Hi, I'm looking to see if anyone has had the same experience as me. I went for an interview at the beginning of May and was emailed a few weeks later to say that I was unsuccessful but had passed the interview and was put on the waiting list. I then applied for a job via email for which I had a reply to say the vacancy had closed. A then applied for another job elsewhere and have received an email today to say that I had been taken off the waiting list - no information about the job I had applied for. Does anyone know why I've been taken off the list when I should be on it for another 2 months?

I have just been taken off the waiting list too, but in the email i was told it was because they had put me forward for a job which i had already emailed about. Not sure why they would take you off without explanation, are you sure its not a reply to an email you may have sent about a vacancy? Sorry i cant be more help I no how frustating the waiting list can be.

The email just says:

"Further to your job application to Royal Mail Group, unfortunately your time on our waiting list has now expired.

Should you wish to apply for another position, please visit our websites."

I have no idea which application they are referring to as I've now applied for 3. I have emailed them to ask why I've been taken off early but I anticipate I'll have to wait another couple of weeks for the reply!

Not a comfirmed job offer just yet but im hoping its a step closer, fingers crossed. I would try and email myapplication and see if you can get a reply if any. Hopefully its just a mistake on their part. Good luck

Hi Steph I am also on the waiting list, I have since seen another job advertised in the same office,so have sent a email off to the email mail address supplied with the details stating I am a waiting list candidate.
But at this point I haven't heard anything back.
When you applied as a waiting list candidate how soon did you get a reply back, any information will be much appreciated how did you get on yourself

Hi Tia,
Fortunatly i have now been offered a job i sent an email for. Just waiting for my dbs clearance and can get my start date. It took two weeks for myapplication to email back to my emails by then other roles i applied for had already been filled/ being interviewed.
I would definatly get your email alerts set up and as soon as you see a role you like send an email asap. Personally I emailed myapplication every few days if i had no reply. I believe it shows your keen.
Ive been on the waiting list 6 weeks so all the best, as you should now be fast tracked for other roles, good luck and hold on in there it can get very frustrating lol....

as soon as you apply for a job you are taken off the list so after that you need to apply the normal way and go for an interview. i'm on the list, i saw a job so I emailed them 8 days ago and not had any kind of reply from them in response to the email....

I applied for two roles I seen, got a reply pretty quickly saying I needed to put them in order of preference, a few days later they got taken down (the adverts) and haven't heard a word since. Sent an email- no reply. Been over a week now. Just hate being left in limbo and Unknown, they haven't even emailed to say I've been taken off waiting list etc.

So finally got a reply yesterday: Thank you for your e-mail.
Unfortunately this position is now no longer available however you are welcome to contact us again for any other roles you may be interested in.

So what is the point in messaging that you're on waiting list and interested in a certain role, to only have to wait weeks on end to recieve a reply like this? This sort of reply shouldn't take weeks.

I found that when you send off the position you're interested in, that you need to email every 48 hours if they don't respond. Eventually they reply. Otherwise it seems your application often ends in this.

ive just been put on a waiting list for 3 months however my status says unsuccessful ..anyone who has been on a waiting list what should the status say? I have emailed yesterday to hr but heard nothing
