A question for all posties

Just out of curiosity, I was wondering if you could go back to that time when you were first offered the job, knowing what you know now about it...would you still have accepted the offer ?

Yes, most emphatically. I am fortunate tho to be based in a very rural area so am somewhat sheltered from much of the nonsense in the business. We are still a bit old fashioned with the job out this way and most days it is very enjoyable.

Ah, so do I understand you're gonna be in a rural location? Don't just let my overview of my own life decide anything for you - I've been a postie in big towns and it sucks. Really sucks.

I don't think I'll be in a rural area, but I'm hoping that where I'll be will be ok re training etc, I spoke to a few folk there whilst I was waiting to be interviewed, and they were really friendly, also said the manager was a good bloke too. Fingers crossed all goes well when I start on the 20th July :)

Yes and no! Love the job most of the time, great people to work with, real characters. But it has slowly taken over my life and can be exhausting, I've done 70 plus miles on my feet this week over 6 days, often out on collections till 6pm after a 6am start, yes it's my choice and the money is welcome but somehow it's hard to switch off!
