progress made
im hearing also that progress been made with regard to rm backing off from sanctions (use of casuals, reps release etc). the pec are prepared to go with agreement but rm sanctions the sticking block? theres gotta be an amnesty and a return to normal year round resourcing. trouble is now there is so much distrust and bad blood its gonna be hard to return to normal. there's gonna be real pockets of hatred and resistance all over the place. these f***ers have treated us like s**t during this dispute. that wont be forgotten in a hurry.
cwu hq gotta get their communications in order. people really feel like they've been kept in the dark over the last week. cwu web page is s**t. how hard can it be to brief overview? its embarrassing. i hope to god they dont want to march us up the hill for a 3rd time as picking up the momentum again will be hard and with people thinking theyve been blanked has not helped. im behind dave ward all the way and im sure hes done his best. but where have the comms been?
lets hope we get some info asap.

Re: progress made
Can any one remember a few years ago we were at loggerheads once again with RM,feelings high and moral was low, infact some old fart got paid a huge amount of money to make a report on"THE SAWYER REPORT" in might do some good if present day management were to read it.jonny wrote:im hearing also that progress been made with regard to rm backing off from sanctions (use of casuals, reps release etc). the pec are prepared to go with agreement but rm sanctions the sticking block? theres gotta be an amnesty and a return to normal year round resourcing. trouble is now there is so much distrust and bad blood its gonna be hard to return to normal. there's gonna be real pockets of hatred and resistance all over the place. these f***ers have treated us like s**t during this dispute. that wont be forgotten in a hurry.

In all honesty apart from winning this dispute and protecting our terms and conditions this may do us all a bit of good.
It has brought us all together and shown what kind of dictators we have running this business. It may also force CWU HQ into getting their act together after the debacle of the last few months.

Lovejoy for President!
As usual Lovejoy brings us the news! You should be running for leadership of the union, Lovejoy with you at the helm we would truly be able to call ourselves the Communication Union! The union website is a sham! No wonder the press & public are really unaware of the reasons we went on strike. I have learnt more from this site about whats going on than the union website. Thanks to everyone on here I don't feel so isolated as some of the members in our office who are unaware of this site even though I have told them about it.
Once again Lovejoy! Thanks top union man!

Re: progress made-Lions led by Donkeys
That damming report is actually pretty fair . However that's New Liebour for you , lot's of reports , committees and jam promised that will never come . Instead New Lie-bour unleashed a bunch of failed free-market Tories in the shape of Postcon and two dodgy Thatcher era dinosaurs ,hell bent on confrontation with one "idea" . The sort of industry that would make cardboard submarines but as long as the s*** stays under the carpet it's "OK".disheartened wrote:Can any one remember a few years ago we were at loggerheads once again with RM,feelings high and moral was low, infact some old fart got paid a huge amount of money to make a report on"THE SAWYER REPORT" in might do some good if present day management were to read it.jonny wrote:im hearing also that progress been made with regard to rm backing off from sanctions (use of casuals, reps release etc). the pec are prepared to go with agreement but rm sanctions the sticking block? theres gotta be an amnesty and a return to normal year round resourcing. trouble is now there is so much distrust and bad blood its gonna be hard to return to normal. there's gonna be real pockets of hatred and resistance all over the place. these f***ers have treated us like s**t during this dispute. that wont be forgotten in a hurry.

Invaluable stuff that mate. We've got young lads in our office and this is their first tate of IA. The solidarity of the picket line is hard to beat and some of these lads, and girls, will become the hard core trade unionists/socialists of tomorrow.stubaby wrote:In all honesty apart from winning this dispute and protecting our terms and conditions this may do us all a bit of good.

just exchanged txts with my local rep. he said there are 14 on pec. the 5 voting against are in fact 3 who didn't think it was even worth considering and 2 who are going to campaign against the agreement. the pec are adamant that it will only be carried if all ea is withdrawn including later starts and in his opinion rm will never back down on that bit. he says pec meeting again on monday with the likely outcome rolliing strikes announced for the week after. i think that if 5 on the pec are so strongly against the deal it must be pretty awful

Do the PEC have to agree unanimously or majority ok?arsenalbob wrote:just exchanged txts with my local rep. he said there are 14 on pec. the 5 voting against are in fact 3 who didn't think it was even worth considering and 2 who are going to campaign against the agreement. the pec are adamant that it will only be carried if all ea is withdrawn including later starts and in his opinion rm will never back down on that bit. he says pec meeting again on monday with the likely outcome rolliing strikes announced for the week after. i think that if 5 on the pec are so strongly against the deal it must be pretty awful
