The Isle of Man Post Office has run out of US dollars and Euros.
The result of the UK’s referendum on membership of the EU seems to have led to a run on the pound.
The Isle of Man Post Office tweeted: ‘Due to unprecedented orders of euros and US dollars in the past few days we are unable to fulfil orders for these at present.
‘We’ll update our website as we receive new currency stocks. Please check our page for updates regularly.
‘Isle of Man Post Office apologises for this and the inconvenience this may cause you.’
Meanwhile, the Isle of Man Bank says it’s not taking any new foreign currency orders for euros today.
Bill Shimmins, managing director. told Manx Radio the bank had seen a huge surge in the number of people ordering the currency in the wake of the Brexit result.
He explained the bank had only a limited stock of notes and so was still processing existing orders for people who had ordered holiday money.
But he says for the time being, no new orders will be taken.
