What's that achieve. What can the rep do about it? Let's say we all work to our time and there's mail left what's not being cleared then what?
Why would you care? It's the managers job to see the mail cleared not yours or your rep.
I like to see the customers get a good service. Not failed doctors appointments, bank statements, Father's Day cards, birthday cards etc
It's an admirable sentiment. Let RM concern themselves about quality of service by employing more staff and making deliveries that can be completed within the time scale.
I really do hope they care as much as we do. We can't keep giving a poor service as we could lose custom

If delivery is taking too long, maybe thats because your doing deliver to a neighbour which as far as i know not factored into geo route ?
if he wants to claim your sorting or prepping is taking too long, well there are tests for that i believe...
maybe a word to your union rep to mention these things to the DOM would help and pin the bloke down to how he thinks things could be more "efficient"
If you believe youre working efficiently and he just wants more and more, then this is something i would definitely do.
When we were going thru this it was always indoor work,as I don't think there are any tests as such they can do for outdoor work as long as you walk at a reasonable speed.
For we were soldiers once, and young

surely the DOM would have to implement agreed national tests before he could actually do anything about "inefficiencies" anyway wouldnt he ? especially if he intends to conduct people over it ?

That's the thing. He is claiming that people not getting out at the time the IWT says is a test. I thought that the IWT could not be used to test individuals?

As far as I am aware there is only one test, x amount of items on the IPS in ONE minute. People generally don't get out on time as there is too much work for the amount of people they have doing the sorting, that is how it is in our office. We are regularly having carry overs now to the following day and walks not going out.
