Why is this not updated everyday to keep us informed. I support the strike 100% but am getting a bit pi$$ed off now with the union. They need to tell us whats going on.

What does everyone else think.

Dead right John the CWU says update tomorrow then nothing it's very poor. The PEC members should make sure we know what;s going on.

A huge percentage of people go along with your sentiments entirlely.I am hoping this will be brought to the attention of UCW headquarters which incidently we help to pay for,from our subs

I think the CWU conference 2008 which is being hosted in Liverpool should be a livley event,many union reps who are due to attend will want to do some serious arse kicking methinks

Just got a text from my branch secretary saying its a done deal late last night. He has been good up until now so i have no doubt its true.

Before stumbling upon this site, I always thought the CWU site should of had a forum. Since this place is now well established, would it be worth approaching the union about possibly paying the fees for this forum? I'd be a lot happier for my subs to go toward funding this place than paying to keep Gordon in power!!
Oh, and yes, they are very slow with info. I always check here first, then google and then maybe the CWU!

If they paid the fees for this forum, then they'd be able to do the same thing to it as they did the official one. The fact that rmc is completely independent is the best thing about it imo. That doesn't mean it should be left up to Postman to fund it of course.

Hmmm...good point though I was not suggesting it became an official CWU site, rather something that they just donate to, like the Labour party (no chance of them disbanded that I suppose?!)

Have to agree about the CWU site, I signed up for the members section expecting to get information not available to the general public and all it contains are LTB's which are normally published on our union notice board anyway.

I agree with every one on here. I do believe that, our senior officers said that there would be no more secret talks and no more suspension of strike action till there was an agreement.
In my opinion the CWU officers are treating us as bad as Royal Mail are at the moment, and how on earth do they expect us to go out on strike again with the same support. I will always support any action that's needed but i am losing faith with our leaders at the moment.

The forums on the CWU web site was taking off cos it was been misused, it was a shame as i found it to be very useful, but hey we have this site now.

How ironic is this, I,m from Liverpool and at the second mass meeting while we were out and decided to stay out last monday the branch at the end of the meeting after the vote to stay out said to keep informed of things was to check on here it shows how much faith a branch has in hq keeping everyone informed.
