What's happening at royal mail
Capitalism is only rubbish when you're at the bottom of the ladder and feel like blaming society for it. Granted, it's harder in this day and age to get higher up (what with every man and his dog having a degree these days, people actually finishing school, etc etc) but really, it's not bad. I sleep in a comfy bed with a roof above my head and I have a car and I can afford to go to the pub for a few pints at the weekend and have a pizza on my stagger home. Every week, my savings grow a little more and my debts shrink a little more too. And if I really wanted (perhaps one day if RM really is going so far down the tubes as it potentially might), I could attend night classes at my local college or I could start something at the Open University, all the while still working and earning money. Does this sound like a bad society to you?

Why is the courier sent to employees?Nigel1505 wrote:Read the Courier then everything will be ok. New pda'S, no problems, everything covered, everybody happy, what's the problem.
We should be able to OPT out!
its full of nothing but propaganda and brainwashing type of material.
lets do above and beyond for the business yet dont expect anything else in return.
brainwashing type of reports the last one i actually read was about doing collections as part of our duties the typical quote from the article was
" we drive past our collection point so it only made sense we collect from that point"
however the flip side to that coin is not only are you taking more time to do the collection you are actually robbing someone else from the actual work and doing it for free.
you get nothing , nada , qilch in return.
Full of BS story's to brainwash people in doing something for nothing.
the business is trying to make you suck a golf ball through a McDonald's straw.
need to stand up folks , stand up and be heard

Clearly Mr Harry hasn't noticed the never-ending flow of migrants escaping the old Communist Bloc countries, which even after nearly thirty years are still suffering the effects of the cancerous touch of Communism/Stalinism.Chewster wrote:Capitalism is only rubbish when you're at the bottom of the ladder and feel like blaming society for it. Seems like all those people would rather be "bottom of the ladder" here than there...

You can, just keep killing it off and they will eventually contact you and then request they don't send any-more.lightningpostman wrote:Why is the courier sent to employees?Nigel1505 wrote:Read the Courier then everything will be ok. Sorry to nit pick - but strictly speaking if you have outstanding debt then you don't really have any savings.Chewster wrote:.. my savings grow a little more and my debts shrink a little more too.
Thing to remember about world economics is that its a zero sum game. There is no surplus - therefore, if you are living the life of riley (which you aren't cos you have to go to work on Monday morning and you have net household debt) then someone else is going without.
You might as well thank the sun and the rain as thank capitalism for your illusion/self delusion of prosperity TBH

You're being a tad pedantic but you are technically right. My point is that I have my savings account which grows in size every time I get paid, And different debt "accounts" which shrink in size. Within the next year or two the debt accounts should be cleared, or even earlier if I decide to use my savings to pay them off but that's probably a bit silly.jetblack wrote:Sorry to nit pick - but strictly speaking if you have outstanding debt then you don't really have any savings.Chewster wrote:.. my savings grow a little more and my debts shrink a little more too.
