Yeah I am the newest guy and I am also permanent part time.

My contracted hour are being met, its just frustrating because i used to work every hour under the sun with no commitments taking up slack at short notice.

I don't want to come across like I am moaning i just want to know where i stand with it just being me getting my hours slashed.

Someone else then goes out and delivers the big parcels on my round (not aware of safe places or alternative addresses resulting in more parcels being brought back).

I come in at 8 load the van and go and deliver. Meaning I am half an hour later than usual so i get hammered by the school run.

The bags are all wrong because he doesn't know the round whos bagging up which isn't his fault.

Delivering parcels and mail twice to the same address in one day.

Don't get me started on miss sorts I have to bring back which is usually half a bundle.

Its on my head still if i misdeliver to a wrong address even though I am trying my best to catch them on the doorstep.

It really isnt an efficient way of working which is a shame as i really enjoyed the job :cry
What time is school run? My first letter today was 10:40nand yes I cut off
I used to miss the rush beforehand. Its between 0830 and 0930 its far to busy to be able to get access to the schools or be able to park to deliver to nearby address's. Its still possible to go later but that means backtracking which we all know what that feel like lol

Theres is a collection on the evening which is 2 1/2 hours 1600-1830. I would do it but it cuts into my evening to much and i would have to sacrifice alot of things. Comes down to that whole juggling act called your work/life balance.

I appreciate your help :Very Happy

Slightly off topic area rep in our mc reckons managers doing opg work does,nt cut our ot yet its being cut to the bone and place is being flooded with agency staff. Is ther not an agreement that says all ot must be covered by opg,s before agency staff are considered as for managers doing opg work its never going to stop with attitude of area rep.

i would formally ask the area rep to put a disagreement in over it, send it as a written request and sent recorded delivery, people with these sort of attitudes don't like paper trails and if you start to have a paper trail showing he isn't doing the job he was elected to do he is not going to like it and it may ive him the kick up the ass he needs to do his job properly

Something which no one has actually mentioned... have you tried actually talking to management?

Asking nicely, explaining your concerns and how this change is effecting you can go a long way.

It's the same as if you're asked to do overtime, if you're told
"There's no one to do it so I expect you to complete" (and threatening you ect)

That illicits a completely different reaction than someone asking
"We're really struggling today, is there any chance you could do a bit extra today please?"

Only been elected (was acting area rep won by 2 votes then comes out with this nonsense) also agreed recently with div rep to take 55% of ot off early shift and put it on n/s which is constantly failing so why give them more work so they can flood place with agency workers while a lot of staff suffer a big drop in earnings. BTW n/s is still failing and yet still very little ot on early shift resulting in more agency staff. Like I've already said he seems to have no problem with managers doing opg work.

Should not management be more communicative with the staff and more resourceful in any eventuality for their day to day planing and staffing going forward with change is that what they are paid to do MANAGE!

So did I but this was also suspended just like their alleged strike apparently.

Communication is a two way street. I have no idea what his manager is like, so (unlike you it seems) I'm not going to assume the worst.

There are good and bad managers just as there are good and bad postman.
