How does this apply to acting managers will they not deploy all of them and can we refuse an instruction by said acting managers if not what is all this about? And if we can where is this business heading too a race to the bottom for all but those at the top!

Next Tuesday will more than likely be busier than normal Tuesday, due to the bank holiday (bank hol weeks are always rubbish after the extra day off). More letters, more parcels and more D2D (Monday's share is normally split over the week). Many depots have "short" contract hours on Tuesdays. What happens if we follow the over-running procedure and say we do not want the overtime to our managers just before their strike? And then what happens on Wednesday morning regarding the over-running procedure, with a lack of managers to tell? :hmmmm

Here is Moya Greene " An engaged and motivated workforce" With an outlook of "Focus of driving efficiency and avoiding cost" how can you square those two things with the greed and gluttony at the very top these people should lead by example not fear and wrath!

I had a chat at our place today and it seems that most of our managers will not be taking action.
I will not criticise individuals who may have circumstances I do not know of but as a group they really should "grow a pair"
For all the faults of our union and ourselves at least we DO stand together better than that!

Are they less oppressed than most managers and in turn are you less oppressed by them?

They're in the CMA (I thought this was an association not a union)

If MCs end up closing due to no PIC then DOs will be screwed when MCs re-open, you'll probably end up with some of the mail that would normally be sequenced getting sent manual

Have a look around these forums. Take note of the number of instances whereby innocent and hardworking postmen and women have been treated appallingly by RM managers.
They do this because they are working to different criteria than we are. Their interests are not the same as ours.

Is it seriously being suggested that I should come out in support ? What ? Of my oppressor ?

Hey, I'm not Jesus Christ - and neither are you.

Maybe the person in charge (permanantly) should be someone who knows the job, who does the job, and is (therefore) working in our interests - for example, someone like a union rep.

Someone (s)elected by us.

Not some ten a penny arse kisser looking to be seen around town in the latest Audi A5 and a poor fitting suit.

Thing is most of the managers now are CWU acting managers and most would not get a BAFTA never mind run an office.

I'm sorry, these individuals should be given the respect they gave to us as union members,I do not in this particular case recognise their legitimacy as members of the union movement. My old man taught me never cross a picket line but in this case rest his sole he would back me up!

To be quite honest mate, I don't think there's many union reps like that left! Ours is alright, he helps out occasionally (i.e, when it suits him) and he does help keep the managers in check from time to time, but on the whole he's a bit of a useless pleb with no interests other than visiting the coffee shops of Bournemouth.

Because we are trade unionists.
