Anybody know of a dog deterrent that works ? I've had my bellyful of dogs and their unhelpful owners.
Anybody tried a dog dazer and does it work?
Bite back works but the dog has to be so close

I have used a sonic tazer in the past - I got one from a previous job and the dogs run like the hounds of hell are after them. If you time it right they are good but don't use them with the owner around they think you have shot their little doggy woggy.

carry a bag of dog biscuits with you, you only have to feed them once and theyre your friend for life................... if that fails offer the biscuit to the owner, especially if its a female............. she will avoid you there after.

I generally just greet them as if i already know them, seems to work fine. Sometimes they'll bark as I walk up the street, but they stop when I go into the gate. The only problem then is trying not to fall over them as they show you their favourite toy ( every day , repeatedly ) :D

If a dog attacks: KICK f**k out of it until it stops. Simple its YOU or the MUTT.

This has worked for me everytime,
if a dog comes at u, bend down as if to pick something up like a stone to throw at the dog,
doesn't matter if there isn't anything there to pick up, the dog will leg it.

Dogs in gardens. Dont go in. Bring mail back. Dont redeliver untill owners call up for mail and give asurance that dog wont be loose in garden again. Dogs in Street loose. Turn back. Dont proceed, or put youself at risk. Call dog warden and police report any loose dog. Dog attacking you with owner present. Refuse to deliver mail in future. Tell area saftey rep dog warden and D.O.M. Take several days off sick stressed out after accident at work. Its surprizing how you can be effected by a dog attack. Personaly speaking i think Royal Mail should treat it as an assult on staff a push for the most harshest penalty. Put the mutts down. And the dogs! Every Royal Mail van should carry a sticker on the back advertising the fact that they will do just that. Get the message across we are not to be attacked by these animals.
