THOUSANDS of people have been left unable to pay their bills or post letters due to a major technical problem affecting every Post Office in the country.
People have been turned away from Post Office branches across the country.
Angry customers complained of trecking from branch to branch only to find each one closed.
The Post Office said it had called an emergency meeting with its counter services team after customers turned up at opening time to find branches shut.
The Post Office posted a message on social media acknowledging the technical issues.
