Police have launched an investigation after more than £1,000 was stolen from a Post Office branch.

The outlet — which is based within the Spar store in Mount Stewart Road, Wormit — was targeted by two men.

It is understood distraction methods were used by two men in order to obtain the cash.

Officers are now looking to trace the pair believed to have carried out the theft and have asked anyone with information to come forward.

Both suspects are described as men of Pakistani origin and aged between 30 and 35 years old.

One of them had dark hair and was wearing jeans and a black jacket over a white polo shirt.

The other man was wearing a black suit.

It is also understood the pair were in the company of another person during the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police in Fife are investigating a theft from a business premises in Mount Stewart Road, Wormit.
