It's all very well, but if you have seven items, and double slot frames, where's the real post going to fit? We are in the main left to get on with it,at our office,as long as they are delivered, where's the problem? If Royal Mail management are to be believed ( I know a great deal of imagination is required for that point),people keep d2d 's for up to 13 days, plenty of time to look at each individual item, however in my experience, 13 seconds is about right, the number of letterboxes with "No Junk Mail", on them, especially new builds is quite something.

I think they've done that in the past, but again that means its one item and that people won't look at them all...not that people do anyway, but it just makes it easier to be chucked in the bin rather than looked atSurreypostie wrote:I read that RM are testing a machine that will bundle up the D2D and put the items into an envelope so we deliver 1 item no matter how many we have. This is to save the prep time for D2D. Surely that is nesting?

Nesting is the way its done at my office and other offices I have been to. The managers will even get peeps on rehab to run them up.
The only exception has been the EU referendum propaganda, these were not to be nested.

the automated D2Ds are intended to have "quick release" sleeve which will spread the leaflets on delivery.

The customers don't want their leaflets hidden away.rubberbond wrote: We are in the main left to get on with it,at our office,as long as they are delivered, where's the problem?
They don't pay for that.
As a customer are you happy if you don't get what you paid for?

Unless someone else preps your frame. Someone who isn't your partner and doesn't have to deliver them and just doesn't give a toss.motherhubbard wrote: When you collate them you do it in the same order.
Therefore you only have to look for the last one, (the biggest one) which you have put at the back.
It really isn't very difficult.

C. Nobody is objectively right or wrong so maybe we ought to tolerate the behaviour even if we disagree with the morality of it
This applies when you are forced to work with someone who doesn't know how to 'collate' his D2Ds, so the mail ends up all over the place!!

Maybe we should force them to read it a bit like WTL or am I wrong and the customer is the king the one that pay's in any event one cannot make anyone read what they do not wish too. So nesting is just the same as all the other crap that come's through the letterbox is it not and who is to tell who delivered what s**t first and second?motherhubbard wrote:The customers don't want their leaflets hidden away.rubberbond wrote: We are in the main left to get on with it,at our office,as long as they are delivered, where's the problem?

And then try and fold them to get through the letterbox only for them to slip and slide and spring from your grasp like a deck of cards.

im going to sound like RM management here but..
its probably true 90% of D2D is just thrown away without being looked at, but the fact that businesses do keep wanting to use the service must mean it has some level of success, they are our customers and we shouldnt just be nesting them inside each other even tho it does make it a lot easier ! Seeing as most of us make not much time anyway (if any) then why rush or take short cuts doing d2d in the first place ? if it takes longer so be it, follow cut off procedure if it causes problems.
