Thanks for clearing that up peedofpostie, so it sounds like someone misheard you rather than a vicious rumour. But it is a salutary lesson to members to check the facts before they post them, it is it a bit different posting on here than having a natter over a pint after all.

Kenny Logan to Scotland No2 Branch

Hi Colleagues, I can now officially state the Branch has a mandate to take Industrial Action following a ballot taken by members. Furthermore, I can state that RM Nationally have contacted Ray Ellis National Officer for further discussions to resolve this issue. When I have more details I will make a further update.
Shortly the Branch Officials will hold a meeting to discuss possible dates to take action if the talks nationally breakdown. All Area Reps are aware of this position and if any member has any questions please contact them.

If the 52/48 result as quoted in another thread is correct, then that is not really anything to be happy about at all.
That is worryingly close as a mandate for strike action.
If people weren't even prepared to stick a cross in a box, which costs them nothing, how many do you think will be prepared to lose money and go out on strike?

I totally agree, but I posted that before I knew the percentage. thoroughly disappointed at that count to say the least. hope the no voters can sleep at night.

Of course we can strike - and if the unions accountants haven't sussed out (in this day and age of blockchains and distributed consensus) a way how to avoid having the unions funds ceased then they need sacking.

The very fact is the vote was in favour of strike action no matter how small or how big this vote was it was in favour of reinstating David Mitchell in his job those who voted no should consider they may soon be in his shoe's too as this is an attack upon all of us who are in a union. Not withstanding this is court judgement's which have been broken by our employer for which we all could regret if the employer wilfully disregards a court of law for anyone whether in a union or not. Sometime's we all have to make a stand and be resolute that David Mitchell get's his job back or it could be YOU NEXT!

I heard today from union rep that there is going to be another ballot on this matter. I'm not sure why, but hopefully a better result with a better return as I have heard only 40% of ballot papers were returned.

Royal Mail challenged the result due to the time taken to release the result of the ballot? also a major mess up in some members not getting a ballot paper, rather than go to court to challenge RM, the decision has been taken to re-ballot the membership.
This is only what i have heard, as of yet no official letter or explanation has came out,(maybe it has but i've certainly not seen it) possibly due to the reps being at conference. The ground troops at the coal face are not happy,

why cant the union do what RM did with the tribunal and just ignore them and go ahead. they've got the mandate so f**k em.

they will challenge every ballot from now, including national ballots. big mistake by union here.
